End of the Year Reflection:
Math class this year helped me by learning different units and graphing quadratic functions and also helping use my skills for completing my PBAT. Yes I wouldn't mind sending my letter to the can company. I think next you should be more thoroughly while explaining. It was hard understanding so I think if you break down the math a little hopefully they will understand better.

The overall task of today's lesson was to show our calculations and record our data in google docs so we can have visuals for our PBAT presentations. This is necessary because we have minimize our SA in order to keep our volume the same. It is good that we have our calculations in order to show the work we did and be able to explain it and have it organized on google docs!

My new Surface Area is going to be used in my PBAT as my calculations of my height and radius of my can. The ultimate goal is to minimize the surface area while keeping the volume the same by making the product cheaper. If I were to present this as a visual I would solve for height and I would show how to substitute in height in order to solve for Surface Area.

It is important to combine two formulas because once you solve for one you can substitute in the answer to solve the next equation. If I were to connect this same skill to my can I would be able to find my height and substitute it in, in order to find the surface area of my can.

The overall task of this PBAT is to minimize the Surface Area while maintaining the volume of the content. By doing this we have to determine our radius, and find surface area. Also substitute radius and volume in order to find the height. The purpose is using a can that is shaped like a cylinder and the two models that the company requires.

The most important concept of the lesson was to learn how to find the height and be able explain our tables ad graphs because when we present our PBATS this is very important and to show that we showed our understanding of each step we did...The mathematical tool that I used today is the calculator and it is very important because it helped me determine my calculations..it made my job easier because I didn't have to do it by hand...

We helped each other by going over out review sheets and the notes Wan had provided us with. If one of us missed a step my other group member would help me out. Today I was able to find the volume and surface area of my can and I was also able to record my data on google docs so when I later present my project I can always go back and look at my data. The skills that I learned were how to use the equation tool on google docs in order to record math data in the right way. I also used the skill of finding volume of a cylinder and surface area of a cylinder. I can use this skill outside of school by measuring the height for surface area and measuring diameter for the volume to try and figure out if the can is filled up or did they use a size enough can.
